LOP 76 Bloody Foreland

Bloody Foreland Today nothing remains to the lookout post no. 76. Only the Eire landmark with the number 76 can be found on a field close to Knockfola. The landmarks was helpful for navigations of the aircrafts during the ww2. Especially for the American aircrafts that came over the Atlantic was this helpful to find the “Donegal Corridor” to Northern Ireland. From here the coast watcher of the 2ww coast watching service reported all activities around the Altawinny bay in their logbooks. The reports are open today for public at the Irish Defence Forces website militaryarchives.ie.
