Spiddal This lookout post was located on a small hill right hand following the street to the shore from Cnoc An Glas at Bohoona East. Only the concrete fundament remains to the former lookout post no.49. Today residential buildings and grown trees restrict the view to the shore. From here the volunteers of the 2ww coast watching service had a view over the northerly Galway bay. During their observation they wrote reports about the activities by the sea and air in logbooks. This logbooks are open for public today at the Irish Defence Forces website militaryarchives.ie.
