LOP 47 Hags Head

Hags Head Today only the fundament and a few concrete blocks remains to the lookout post no. 47. The former building was situated next to a Napoleonic watchtower at the Cliffs of Moher. Most of the concrete blocks are blown away down the cliffs in the last decades in fact of strong storms at this point. From here the coast watcher of the 2ww coast watching service had a view up to the Aran Islands. During their observation of the shore they wrote reports about the activities by the sea and air in logbooks. This logbooks are open today for public at the Irish Defence Forces website militaryarchives.ie
