LOP 4 Cardys Rock

Cardys Rock This lookout post no.4 was located near Balbriggan in the northern part of Fingal.Today only the concrete fundament with the typical six sided figure remains to the former post. Furthermore some parts of the chimney and the roof can be found under the grass. The lookout post got the name from a group of rock outcrops about a third of a mile offshore from Bremore point. During the second world war the coast watcher observed from here the shore and registered all military activities in logbooks. These logbooks are open for public today and can be seen on the Irish Defence Forces web page militaryarchives.ie.
