Old Head The lookout post no. 25 was located at Old Head of Kinsale. Today, nothing remains of the building. In 1990, a golf club was opened on this headland. The post was probably destroyed during the construction of the golf course. A photograph from 1950 suggests that the lookout post was located near the current clubhouse. The old photograph also shows that the wall around the lighthouse used to be more extensive than it is today. From here, the coast watcher had a good view of the sea. The logbooks published by the armed forces provide insight into the coastguard's observations. All activities at sea and in the air were recorded in these logbooks from 1940 to 1945. www.militaryarchives.ie
