LOP 23 Power Head

Power Head At the east side of the bay to Cobh Harbour the lookout post no. 23 is located at the end of the headland called Power Head. Today the building is situated in a private garden. In the early past measurement cables for a marina scientific experiment was installed in the building. But today the building has no function. The mast that connected the lookout posts with a telephone wire in the ww2 can be still found behind the post. The Light projection at this lookout was inspired of a drawing by Harry Clarke. The drawing from Edgar Allen Poe's "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" was selected for the light projection on this post.
