Forlorn Point A coastguard building was used for lookout post no. 15. The logbooks of this observation post are now publicly accessible and can be viewed on the website www.militaryarchives.ie. Today, the Irish Coast Guard uses the building for maritime radio services. A huge warehouse blocks the view of the harbour and the eastern part of the bay.
A memorial path and garden commemorate the loss of eleven crew members of the steam trawler Leukos, which was sunk by a German submarine near Tory Island in 1940.
The associated Eire sign is located between the building and the memorial is currently being restored.
