Foileye Head
The lookout post No. 83 is located 2 kilometres east of Kells in a field directly adjacent to a road. It was built later than the other posts of the Irish Defence Forces Coast Watching Service. This explains why this post was inserted between observation posts 35 and 36. The earlier lookout posts were given registration numbers in clockwise order along the shore of the Irish Republic.
The associated Eire sign is located 1 kilometre south-west of the building on the slope of the mountain range. The digits and the number 83 are clearly visible from the road below and from the air.
