LOP 82 Inishowen Head

Inishowen Head

At the north-easternmost point of the Republic of Ireland, an English coastguard station was used during the Second World War as lookout post number 82. From here, coastguards from the 2nd World War coast watching service observed the area near the border with Northern Ireland. Half a kilometre northeast, on the Inishowen Head Loop, is the restored Eire sign with the number 82.
