Forlorn Point
At this point, the coastwatchers of lookout post no. 16 used an existing coastguard building to observe the shore during an emergency. The building was used to observe the harbour activities around Kilmore Quay. Today, the Irish Coast Guard uses the building for maritime radio services. However, a warehouse now blocks the view of the harbour and the eastern part of the bay. The associated Eir sign is located right next to the building and has recently been partially uncovered and restored by local residents.
